"We have been busy little bees here at, “Savvy Studios” trying to work out a way to promote the things that we love. Both Serena and I are mad dog lovers and have spent many hours photographing our own dogs and those that belong to others (when we get the chance to steal their dogs for a while). We decided that we needed to have a project that made us smile whenever we thought about it… and it had to involves pets. Lots and lots of pets… and so, “The Pet Project” was born. ~ Alicia
About Serena
Serena is a super-freak with a camera - relatively new to photography she has knocked everyone for six with her intuitive and whimsical animal portraits. Her work revolving around her dogs, Rocco, Ralph and Reddells, has a strong fan base right around the world giving followers a quirky insight into Serena's pet loving world.
Serena entered the Queensland Professional Photography awards for the first time in 2010 and was awarded, "Qld Emerging Photographer of the Year" and followed that up with a Gold, a Silver Distinction and a Silver award at the 2010 Canon Australian Professional Photography Awards.
About Alicia
Alicia was raised in a very animal friendly home and her childhood was filled with pets of all shapes and sizes. At the age of ten she was first pushed into the dog show arena and for the last 23 years has been a regular on the dog show circuit. She is a breeder of many champion Pointers and has owned a variety of breeds of dogs over the years from the great (Great Dane) to the small (Jack Russell Terrier).
Many hours have been spent photographing animals and perfecting the 'strangled chicken' squeal that always goes down a treat.
At the 2010 WPPI Awards in Las Vegas, Alicia was awarded first place in the 'Album - non-wedding informal' category with her highly acclaimed, "School Daze" photographic series. The album was joint highest scoring album out of entires in all categories from professional photgraphers from all around the world. At the 2010 Qld Professional Photography Awards, Alicia was awarded "Qld Illustrative Photographer of the Year" and at the 2010 Canon Australian Professional Photography Awards, Alicia kept up with Serena earning a Gold, a Silver Distinction and a Silver award.
